Crystals & Gemstones

Tumbled Stones
Tumbled stones are polished by putting them in a tumbler with grit such as sand for a long time! The process smooths and polishes the stones. Tumbled stones are wonderful to use in healing layouts or to carry in your pocket. They make great gifts, especially for children. The Sea Goddess has many, many types of tumbled stones. A partial list is Amethyst, Red Jasper, Carnelian, Citrine, Malachite, Aventurine, Blue Lace Agate, Sodalite, Clear Quartz, Tigers Eye, Rhodochrosite, Fluorite, Moonstone, Bloodstone, Aquamarine, Emerald, Hematite and many more. The usual cost for these stones is 50 cents for medium sized (about 1") and $1 for large size. Email me for answers to specific questions about tumbled stone. I have pictured some Blue Lace Agate here.

Crystal Point
A crystal point is a single crystal that has a natural point or termination on at least one end. Some points are double terminated....in other words, there is a point at each end. Energy runs through the crystal in the direction of the point, so in double terminated crystals, the energy runs both ways.

Crystal Cluster
A crystal cluster is a group of crystals that often are growing at different angles.

Carved Stones
Many crystals can be carved into beautiful shapes. This is a picture of Fluorite which has been carved into "worry stones". Some are carved into hearts, animals, and about any shape that you can imagine. They are also polished to given them a beautiful sheen.

Gemstone Blades
Blades are rectangular pieces of gemstones that usually do not form natural points. This is a picture of a Lepidolite blade. Blades are usually raw stone that is not polished.

Treated crystals
Some crystals such as quartz and agate are easy to dye. Quartz also lends itself to other treatments. The ones in the picture are called Aqua Aura. These stones have been fumed with gold at an extremely high temperature, which turns them this gorgeous aqua color. This color is permanent.
